Rot Damage

Rot damage is very common, particularly when the wall has been build using some logs or timber. The situation happens after the wood gets dumped. The loss is gradual and will cause the whole block to be weakened. It is important that the bad part is cut off. A stronger part should be used and fixed to help the wall stand strong.

Use Tie-backs

When you notice the wall is starting to lean on one side, it is important you find support materials. Stands are installed on one side to help restore the balance and stability of the whole column. In most cases, holes are dug on the wall and metal posts are fitted to give support from the ground where they are mounted for retaining wall damage.

Reinforce the Front Wall

When the damage is quite severe, it is necessary that right actions are taken. The wall could have been damaged very badly but demolishing it is not a good idea. It is important you find the right experts who will help redesign a new wall that will come adjacent to the old one. The new wall is meant to give support to the existing one. The space in between can be closed completely by adding some solid materials there. No further bending can happen when the concrete is added in the space.

Draining Water

Most retaining walls built in homes are normally affected stagnating water which accumulates on one side. The dampness tends to spread to the entire area and deep into the foundation. It is important that the water is removed completely so that the wall remains dry and strong. Some drainage channels can be created next to the wall to keep water away. Some holes can also be made in the wall so that water can pass through to the other side.
