Electrical adapters, gum, a great guidebook, super glue (it can fix glasses, shoes or even luggage in a pinch), sleeping aids and a money belt are a few of the little items that can have a big impact on your travel experience. But no bright idea item is more useful than a Space Saver bag. Even without vacuum suction, you can squeeze and fold a full Space Saver into a much smaller size than the original pile of clothes, leaving room in your suitcase for souvenirs and other purchases. Just make sure your suitcase doesn’t go over the airline’s weight limit now that you can fit more in it.
There’s no authority like a well-respected travel guide, but be aware that these must-haves for your destination may differ than those for a different location. Always consult your travel guide to learn more about what you should and shouldn’t take on your first overseas adventure. And remember, as long as you have your personal medications, proper documentation and some cash or a credit/debit card, almost everything else can be replaced if something were to happen.
