Lightning Magnet

During the last month of the First World War in 1918, Major Summerford, a British officer was knocked off by a lightning in the fields of Flanders, paralyzing him temporarily from the waist down. Four years later, during a fishing trip in Vancouver, Canada, a lightning hit the tree Summerford was sitting under, paralyzing his right side this time. Finally, Summerford was permanently paralyzed after another lightning struck him while he was walking in summer 1930. Summerford died a few years later and curiously a lightning bolt was drawn to him again, destroying his tombstone during a storm.
