Named after John Harvard Charlestown, the first benefactor of the College, the Harvard University was established by the vote of the General Court of Massachusetts Bay Colony in the year 1636. Having grown over the years, the university has evolved in to a temple of learning where the mission is to promote new ideas and knowledge.
