5. Major John Andre
Born in 1750, Major John Andre worked as a spy for the British. He had joined the British army at the age of 20 and served his initial years in North America when the British Army had occupied New York and Philadelphia. He was arrested in 1780 and put on trial. The board of senior officers found him guilty of spying and therefore, they ordered his execution which took place on October 2, 1780.
