9. William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet (1996)
This film was directed by Baz Luhrmann so it’s a strange journey through one of Shakespeare’s most well know plays. It follows the star-crossed lovers Romeo (Leonado DiCaprio) and Juliet (Claire Danes). It’s set in the modern-day fictional location of Verona Beach and begins with a gun fight between the Capulets and Montagues.
