4. Alfred Wegener
A prolific meteorologist, scientist and geologist, Alfred Wegener got fame and recognition for his theories only after his death. His entire life was dedicated to experimentation and discovery. He was the one who first informed the world of the continental drift but his theories and research was not recognized during his lifetime. It was only after his death and the evidences shown by J. Tuzo Wilson that Alfred’s findings about the continental drift were correct, that he got recognition and his theories were given due respect.
