1. Phoenix
These birds are said to live for 500-1000 years and at the end of their life cycle they build a nest. It then bursts into flames reducing itself and the nest to ash. A new phoenix will rise from the ashes and will live as long as its old self did. The ability to be reborn from the ashes would suggest the bird is immortal although some stories say the new phoenix is simply the offspring of the old one.
