3. Ralph Fiennes as Amon Goeth (Schindler’s List)
Villains based on historical characters usually don’t come off as all that menacing. Sometimes we simply can’t believe someone could be so cruel. The exception is Ralph Fiennes’ depiction of Nazi war criminal Amon Goeth. What makes Amon ever the scarier is that he often appears to be a normal, reasonable man. But at a moment’s notice he can become a monster. It is this constant threat of random and unprovoked murderous violence that makes him a menacing figure in a great movie.
