Margarita Carmen Cansino or Rita Hayworth is an American actress and one the most emblematic figures in the American classic movie era. Her fame as an erotic myth was solidly established when she starred in Charles Vidor’s Gilda in 1946. In the movie, Rita performed a suggestive musical performance, which was considered too bold in some countries. Despite some oppositions, the movie achieved box office records around the world. In February 1987, Rita fell into coma and she died a few months later at 68 years of age.
