3. Qinling Zhongnanshan Tunnel, China
Among the two tube road tunnels in the world, Qinling Zhongnanshan Tunnel or the Zhongnanshan Tunnel in China is the longest one. After the completion of Switzerland’s Gotthard Base Tunnel, it stands third longest tunnel in the world. The 11.2i mi. tube tunnel was thrown open to the public in 2007. Becoming the part of the Highway Xi’an-Ankang, the tunnel connects Zhashui and Changan countries. It took whopping US $ 410 million to build the tunnel.
