6. Ball Point Pen
The invention of the ball point pen might be taken for granted as no one in particular gives the thought of how it came into being. However, the ball point pen is an important innovation that has made life easy. Earlier quill pens that used feathers and an inkpot for dipping, were used for writing. It was a meticulous task to write without spilling the ink. The process eased with the invention of the fountain pen. However, this too was tedious as one had to repeatedly fill the ink reservoir often resulting in spills or the pens going dry when not in use. The ball point pen has done away with all these nuisances as one can simply change the refill when not working.
