5. Aeschylus

Aeschylus was a famous Greek tragedian whose works can still be performed or read today. He is often considered as the father of tragedy and modern knowledge of this literary genre begins with his plays. Unlike previous literary works, he used enough characters to allow the proper development of a conflict. Aeschylus was a very religious thinker, with exalted views of Greek Gods, especially Zeus. In an apocryphal story, it was reported that Aeschylus was killed by a falling turtle dropped by an eagle.
