The journey toward Darjeeling is also unique and exclusive. After reaching the New Jalpaiguri station by train or Silliguri by flight, one can take the journey in a toy train till Darjeeling. Ooty: It was established by the British as the summer headquarters of the Chennai Government during 19th century. A soothing place with serene nature in the lap of mountains. The Botanical Garden and the boat ride in the lake is the major attraction here. One can also go for a trek to the Dodabetta Peak (the highest point of Nilgiri Hills). This is a quiet place and one can enjoy their summer holidays to the fullest in this mountain abode of TamilNadu.
Mussorie: This hill station is situated in Uttarakhand and an hour long drive from Dehradun. Most of the north Indian people take a drive and spend their weekend in this beautiful hilly area. One can take a cable ride till Gun Hill and can also enjoy a picnic at the side of Kempty Falls. They can also take a horse ride till Laal Tibba, which is the highest peak in Mussorie.
Srinagar: It is also known as the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir and the Switzerland of India. The lovely lakes, house boats, Chinar parks and the snow capped mountain peaks make this a beautiful place to enjoy your holiday. The gardens were created by Mughal emperors and still have the sign of their architectural traits. This place has Asia’s largest Tulip garden and there is also a Tulip festival held every year in April.
Manali: Mountains, pine forests and the Beas River are the main attractions of Manali, which is located in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh. One can always have a drive to the Rohtang Pass from here.
