The human mind works in funny ways, and you can use that to your advantage when it comes to your menu design. When putting your prices, skip the dollar sign and just stick to the plain old number. Dollar signs will remind the customer of the actual cash being spent, which will naturally lead most people to spend less.
Size Offerings
If you are offering drinks and food items in multiple sizes, you should consider offering the standard small, medium and large rather than just two choices if you want to maximize your profits. When you offer just small and large for example at one and two dollars respectively, people will tend to order the small. When you throw in a medium at 1.50, you will increase profits since most people will tend towards the average sized option.
