1. Mad Max – Australia (1979)
The film that brought Mel Gibson recognition is a dystopian view of the near future where gangs rule the highways and the police are almost as crazy as the crooks. Highlighting a very negative portrayal of the future, it’s a great example of Austrailian New Wave filmmaking.
