Yemi Alade, also known as Yemi Eberechi Alade,was born on 13th March, 1989 in Abia state of Nigeria. Active since 2005 in Afro pop genre of music as a singer-songwriter, she got noticed after getting first place in the Peak Talent Show, which took place in the year 2009. After that, this beautiful singer never looked back and continued her way to the eventual stardom, which happened with her critically acclaimed and smash hit single “Johnny” in March 2014.

The fifth child of her parents, Yemi Alade did her schooling from St. Saviour British Primary School and Victory Grammar School. She got her higher education from University of Lagos where she took geography as her main subject to get the degree.
Life as a Musician
Yemi Alade entered into the music world in 2005 when she made her first appearance in Noty Spices, a girl band group. She subsequently won a talent show known as Peak Talent Show in the year 2009 after which she created her first song “Fimisile” and released it as a single under the name of “Jus’ Kiddin’”. Later, she released her second single “Ghen Ghen Love”, soon after that she was signed by Effyzzie Music Group in year 2012.
She released an emotive video by the name of “Bamboo” in July 2013, which was moderately successful and became an anthem for love and weddings. Her single “Johnny”, not only broke records, when it was released in various countries, but also became one of the best and popular songs of the year. In 2014, she made an appearance in Yung6ix’s album’s critically applauded track “Lights” along with the remix version of the hit song “Sebiwo” sung by Beninese star Lace.
She also took part in Port Harcourt World Book Capital by featuring in its track, wherein she talks about the importance of education of young people. After that she released her single again by the name of ‘tangerine”, which achieved popularity all across Africa. Her debut album was recently released in 2014 by the name of “King of Queens”.
