WordPress as a Multi-Editor Platform

Many people are using WordPress for various purposes. It is a versatile blogging platform and the platform is quite easy to use. It has a versatile central administration area where we can manage content and perform various maintenance tasks. With WordPress, it is incredibly easy to get our website up and running. However, there are a number of capabilities that we don’t normally use when we are managing WordPress. As an example, many of us don’t know that WordPress can work with multiple authors. If we have multiple drafts in our website, it is actually possible to automatically publish them at specific day and time. This will give an illusion that our website is constantly manned, even if we are away in vacation. WordPress websites can be made as a shared working platform with multiple contributors and authors. When we log into the WordPress dashboard, we will be given unique password and username. The editor has its own WordPress dashboard and he/she has more limited access compared to the administrator. Even so, editors have full capability to manage their own content.

When adding new users, administrators can define their roles. New users can be assigned as editor, contributor, subscriber, author or administrator. Editors should have full functionality to do many things based on their roles. However, they won’t be able to perform tasks that are usually done by administrators, such as changing plugin or managing users. Editors can also edit their content and approve comments. They also have the ability to change the content of other editors, so it is important for them to work together. When adding a new editor, we should make sure that he/she can be trusted, because they still have the ability to make huge changes in the website. There should be regular meetings between editors to make sure that they can work well with one another. If editors are located in remote areas they could still perform online meeting sessions. These complete features are built into WordPress system and we should be able to make many changes that we want.

The multi-editor platform can be enhanced by telling others that new content is available. As an example, Twitter plugin can be installed into our website. It means that people can be informed if new content has been published. This is an important to make sure that our Twitter followers can be kept updated about changes in our websites. The title of our new post and a snippet of the content can be tweeted automatically. This will allow people to get interested and click our content. Facebook can also be integrated with WordPress to give more information about website. In fact, it is a good idea to create a Facebook account specifically for our website.

WordPress as a multi-editor platform opens a wide range possibility for users and we will be able set up everything. We should have instant traffic, because our editors have worked together to achieve their own mini goals.
