9. Hag Fish
These fish haven’t really changed over the last 300 million years. They are long eel-like creatures and one of the few animals in the world that has a skull but no vertebral column.
They are about a metre long and and have no jaw. Instead they have a pair of horizontally moving flaps that have tooth-like structures on them.
