6. Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome
There have been reports of the sudden and unexpected deaths of perfectly healthy men the cause of which is attributed to the intake of high levels of carbohydrates before sleeping. During the 1980s, there were reports that several healthy and young Asian men complained of nightmares and were convinced that demons invaded their dreams. The news article inspired Wes Craven to transform these incidents into a movie and hence “A Nightmare on Elm Street” was born.
