2. Paris syndrome
This condition is exclusive to traveling Japanese who experienced mental breakdown after visiting a distant, famous city; particularly Paris. Japanese people with their rigidly formal culture often find it difficult to communicate with many French, who typically communicate on a far more informal level. For example, French waiters who are infamous for their rude behaviors may shock many Japanese who are unable to argue back. Exhaustion and bottled up anger may lead to depression and subsequently, mental breakdown.
