4. Compass
During the ancient times, mariners travel through observing the stars. But this does not work very well during daylight and cloudy night. Thus, not all mariners can go too far from the shore because they might be lost in the middle of their voyage. But because of the compass, sailors can now safely navigate the big oceans without ever worrying of getting lost. The compass has improved the global communication and trade.
