9. Kobe Beef
This might be a little more palatable than the other foods on this list. It’s a cut of meat from the black Tajima-ushi breed of Wagy? cattle. These cows are raised according to strict tradition in Japan. The cows are given massages to ensure their muscles don’t get sore due to their lack of exercise, they are fed beer, expensive grain and workers rub their hides with Sake.
The resulting meat is smooth, strong in flavour and has a distinctive marbling. Real Kobe beef isn’t really sold outside of Japan but you can get Kobe-style beef, which has a similar flavour and marbling.
