5. Indian Ocean Earthquake
On December 26, 2004, an earthquake occurred in the Sumatra underwater. The earthquake itself did not kill any person but the tsunami that ensued after swept everything in its way. The tsunami affected around 20 countries and killed 230,000 people. The drama is felt worldwide as tourists normally flock in affected beach resorts.
