8. Chocolate Chip Cookies
A lady named Ruth Wakefield, who was famous for making cookies, invented the chocolate chip cookie after running out of baking chocolate. She instead substituted broken up bits of a Nestle chocolate bar. Andrew Nestle got the recipe from her and she got a lifetime supply of chocolate chips.
