The Azores, Portugal
This Portuguese archipelago is about 1000 miles from Lisbon. You can watch dolphins and whales in paradise from lookout towers called vigias. There are also tours arranged in small whale watching vessels. From May to October you can watch sperm whales here. These are the biggest of the toothed whales up to 59 feet long and up to 55 tons in weight. You can also see rare beaked whales here.
