The 37th birthday of Apple is coming on April 1, 2013. Let’s gather some interesting information about the logo of this world-famous brand.
Concept Evaluation
The basic concept of Apple logo has evolved from Isaac Newton’s discovery of gravitational force. We all know that when Newton discovered gravitational force, he was sitting under an apple tree. Ronald Wayne showed the similar drawing to Steve Jobs around 11 days before the launch of Apple’s first computer. The drawing was pretty complicated and unsuitable as a logo, however, it was insightful and a product of mindfulness.
Jobs had no idea about logo designing, however, he felt that Wayne’s logo needed some simplicity. That Newton drawing logo with William Wordworth’s quotation; Newton. A mind forever voyaging through strange sea of thoughts…alone!’ on the lower frame was too much intellectual for a logo purpose. He rendered the services of Rob Janoff who immediately selected the apple from the whole drawing as a logo.
Janoff’s Apple logo was a colorful apple with several vibrant colored stripes on it. He added the infamous Apple bite just to add the element of humanism and diversity into the logo. All other myths about Apple logo bite are false! Later on, when Steve Jobs rejoined the Apple company, he replaced those vibrant colored stripes with a simple aquatint colored logo. This custom logo design was released with the iMac. The latest Apple logo in a glass tint color was released in 2003.
