The bathroom is perhaps one of the most unpleasant places to clean, so we understand that you try to finish as soon as possible!
But in the rush to finish quickly you may be making some mistakes when cleaning the bathroom. Here we tell you what and how to avoid them.
- Clean Surfaces at Room Temperature
Did you know that heat the bath, sink and tiles 10 degrees above ambient temperature can double the effectiveness of alkaline cleaners? All you have to do is fill the tub or sink with the hottest water you can from the tap and let it sit for a few minutes before cleaning these areas.
- Fight with Curtains
Do not waste energy scrubbing the lining or shower curtain. Place it in the washer with a couple of towels, a cup of vinegar, and turn on the washing machine about five minutes. Leaving towels and curtains soak for one hour before restarting the machine again to finish the cycle. Hang to dry, and ready!
- Are You Using Paper Towels?
Forget paper towels, it is far better to use a microfiber cloth! These fabrics are composed of ultrafine synthetic fibers that create a static charge that attracts dirt and dust, so dust can cope without the use of aerosols. Even better, you can wash and reuse, so that the environment will thank you too.
- Clean your Toothbrush
A recent study found that the average tooth brush containing some 10 million germs. To clean, rinse thoroughly after each use and occasionally dip it in a cup of vinegar for about 30 minutes to remove any remaining bacteria.
- You Forget Vacuuming
Do you think that the vacuum is only for the carpet? Think again. Before cleaning the tile floor, vacuum or sweep to remove loose dirt and debris, and then washed with a cleaning solution.
It will save time in the long run, rather than having to wash a dirty and dusty ground.
- You Forget to Clean Behind the Toilet
It seems obvious, but as a place of difficult access, maybe you’re forgetting to clean behind the toilet. To do so, roll a couple of paper towels (best for this dirty work that a reusable cloth), immerse in sanitizer, and pass it through the back of the toilet. Let stand for a few minutes and then spend a dry paper towel to finish the job.
- Do not Clean your Comb and Hairbrushes
Like sponges or rugs, combs and hairbrushes trap unwanted dust, dirt, oil and hair products. Every time you comb it with a dirty comb, you cover your hair with all that dust and dirt. To clean, first remove all the hair stuck in the bristles.
Mix a solution of 1 cup water, 1 teaspoon of shampoo and 1 teaspoon of baking soda and apply it to the bristles and the base gently with a toothbrush. Rinse and it’s ready for use.
