10 Things to Think About Before a Run

1. Shoes

These are one of the most important things to a runner. If you are new to running, go and have a gait analysis at a sports shop. They’ll be able to tell you what sort of shoes you need. Wearing the right shoes can cut down on injury and discomfort.

Running shoes typically last 250-500 miles. The heavier you are the more worn the shoes will get so make sure you replace them if you start to find that they are no longer giving you support or your joints are beginning to ache.

You should also take into account where you are running. Trail running shoes are very different to road running shoes.
