8. Oradour-sur-Glane, France
During WWII, the people in this town were massacred by German soldiers. 642 were killed and the town was destroyed. The burned cars and wrecked buildings serve as a reminder of WWII. All visitors to the town are asked to keep silent as a sign of respect to those who died.
