There is something to be said for a boutique that has the sense of humor to carry independent labels like Viktor and Rolf alongside with the stodgily classic, like Roger Vivier. Pure beauty greets the customer upon entering 2006FEB01, no matter how whimsical or out-of-order these choice items may seem.
The architects BEHF have created an interior worthy of lavish fashion. Both opulence and irony manifest themselves in the heavy crystal chandeliers and walls lined with reptilian leather and flocked wallpaper. Clothing arranged on voluminous upholstered sofas enforces the atmosphere of a glamorous private fitting. Such exclusivity is appreciated by the demanding international clientele, many of whom hail from Eastern Europe and expressly request for clothes that signify obvious luxury. However, make no mistake as to the overarching theme all of the pieces signify: serious craftsmanship and good taste.
