The wildest restaurant-lounge in the Museumsquartier, hands down. The Dschungel (jungle) Deli occupies the spacious foyer by the Dschungel Wien’s children’s theater and is a hit with the Bugaboo crowd. Completely absent here are the irritating self-conscious poseurs found in the other MQ eateries. Instead, (very) young, uninhibited culture vultures climb and jump on the very comfortable sofas. Tip: wi-fi-ers have a cozy lounge to work in during off-hours.
The menu is dominated by organic whole-grain dishes. Their all-day breakfast is fantastic: choose from nine types like the “Carribean style” which includes bean-flour pancakes filled with plantain cream and peanut butter, muesli with homemade fruit yogurt and mango lassi. The downside is that kids will have to suffer the amaranth fruit bars instead of their usual Mars bars. Waaaaaah!
