This retro Ringstrasse café may take its inspiration from the ’50s but it was actually founded in 1903. Located directly opposite the city park and the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK), the classy cafe has always remained true to its homespun tradition: Viennese cuisine, homemade cakes and pastries, a good selection of international newspapers, the glass of water with your coffee, the tinkling piano music in the background (Monday, Wednesday and Friday 19-22) and the garden that can be enjoyed in the summer months.
Check out the cafe’s new back room, recently restored to its original Art Nouveau style.
