This inconspicuous cafe between Mariahilferstrasse and Gumpendorferstrasse has become a sort of clubhouse for artists and writers. On the 30th of every month the cafe hosts an open mike night where they beg, “Ihr Auftritt bitte! Sei für zehn Minuten der Star” (loosely, “On stage, please! Be a star for 10 minutes”). Poems, anecdotes, songs and sketches are all welcome. Throughout the rest of the month, the cafe also is home to a number of exhibitions, readings and performances.
