Curated by Georg Weckwerth, TONSPUR_passage has been bringing impossibly difficult-to-describe sound installations into the public since 2006. This tunnel is one of the few permanent venues for sound artists and, for that matter, is one-of-a-kind worldwide. The visitor of Vienna’s art-heavy Museumsquartier district enters the yard through this portal, which features the noise and sound from four different artists every year.

Georg Weckwerth is known due to his TONSPUR series, featuring international sound artists in public space since 2003. “Irregular regularity” is the topic Austrian artist Esther Stocker dealt with when conceiving the black-and-white visual art that lines the interior.
