For challenging and varied performance-art deviance, start with the Brut theater. As a co-production house and presentation avenue for theater, dance and performance (formerly known as dietheater Wien), Brut focuses on supporting and showcasing “off scene” activities in Vienna.

With two main venues, the foyer at the Künstlerhaus and 
the bar at the Konzerthaus, Brut boasts ample space to present a diversity of media including installations, video works, lectures, performances, and audience discussions.

Brut builds production networks between the Viennese scene and international cohorts—Freischwimmer, Poolbar Festival, Wiener Festwochen and individual artists—while also stamping a presence in the city’s theater world.
