Tucked away in a tranquil corner of the museum quarter, Architekturzentrum Wien (or “AzW”, as it is most commonly called) is a haven for anybody interested in modern architecture and urban planning.
Dedicated to promoting and exploring all aspects of architectural design in the 20th and 21st centuries, AzW’s mission is to foster public engagement in the different processes that shape the built environment.
On permanent display at AzW is an overview of Austrian architecture from 1850 to the present. To promote scholarly research in the field, AzW also maintains an extensive architecture archive and library, as well as numerous databases on architecture-related topics. AzW also regularly hosts guided tours and public lectures by internationally renowned experts.
