Parisian native Florence Samson loves her tea, so much that she channeled her passion into a business and opened a tea shop in an old house under the shade of wispy plane trees in Shanghai’s French Concession. The name—as the store itself—combines the proprietor’s French roots with her new home; Song Fang being the Chinese translation of Samson.
This three-story labor of love aims to revive the luxurious culture in appreciation of Chinese products such as silk, porcelain and, of course, tea. Song Fang Maison de thé offers a brilliant selection of Chinese teas and aromatic blended teas from France. Helping foster the fine art of tea drinking, you’ll find a teahouse on premise which invites you to be transfixed by choice leaves releasing nuanced flavors and perfumes with a personality of their own.
