At the gourmet grocer’s Casa Santa Luzia, the glorious products on display range from fine wines, cured meats and European cheeses to fresh pasta and local fruit. Spread across two floors, the selection often swells to include more than 14,000 different items: happily, a knowledgeable, helpful, English-speaking army of shop assistants are on hand to help shoppers navigate this embarrassment of riches.
Casa Santa Luzia’s highlights include an excellent assortment of coffee (taste a cup at the counter) and a mouth-watering array of pastries. Full takeaway meals can be ordered in advance and the shop celebrates various seasonal events with Harrods-style Christmas baskets, coffee weeks and so on. But no matter the time of year, a visit to Casa Santa Luzia is invariably a delectable experience.
