This stretch of Pacific Coast is Golden Gate Park’s end point that abuts the Sunset and Richmond District neighborhoods. With the craggy outcropping to the north serving as a shelf for the famous Cliff House, and skirting the historic Sutro Baths, the sunrises and sunsets here are uniquely gorgeous. While beach-going is best served during the early spring and late fall, Ocean Beach—with its killer currents and strong waves—is a go-to for serious, seasoned surfers with enough command of the tides to steer their boards clear of harm’s way.
