Where artsy neighborhood hipsters mingle with crew-cut Marina types schlepping it in the Mission; creepy, dust-covered, decades-old piñatas dangle from the ceiling; and bartenders pour stiff, 75-percent tequila, pint glass-sized margaritas. Latin American Club has nothing whatsoever to do with Latino culture, unless you count the giant mural of a Chihuahua covering one of its walls. With ass-to-elbow crowds, heavy (relatively cheap) booze, and an ambiance abuzz with SF-style jollies, it’s difficult to leave this place sober.
