The disciples of fashion’s dark lord, Rick Owens, aren’t hard to spot. Usually they are clad in black, artistically cut and very expensive looking clothes matched with one of his signature leather or fur jackets. Ever since Courtney Love and Madonna declared their admiration for his designs in the late ‘90s it’s been pretty much a continual success story for the Rick Owens corporation.
In 2003 he moved his whole operation to Paris and opened this flagship boutique in the Palais Royal. In keeping with the furniture collection that was added to his monochrome portfolio in 2005, the store mimics the designer’s clothing aesthetic with its sleek interior and comes equipped with both men’s and women’s collections. In case you are planning of joining Owens’ stylish army of darkness, be prepared to spend some serious money. Such avant-garde design has never been known to come cheap.
