This tiny bookstore is amazing. Located in the quarter Saint-Antoine, Page 189 received the label LIR (independent library of reference) by the ministerial culture office in 2010.

From well-assorted comics to the beautiful editions by Gallimard, you can find everything your bookworm heart is yearning for in this tastefully curated store. Good, personal advice given with real care and patience from passionate sales assistants, who take time to review the books themselves and leave a note on the cover, make it impossible to leave this place with empty hands.

You’ll definitely find yourself adopting a very French attitude when tempted to buy books that would normally exceed your literary budget, because after all not having enough money is no reason not to cultivate yourself and allow yourself the pleasure of a splendid read. If you’re lucky you might stumble into one of the readings or lectures that take place here in the evenings. Also check out their carefully maintained blog.
