French Trotters is undoubtedly Bastille’s most charming store. The shop is an interesting mix of art and fashion, perhaps most easily described as “à la Colette”—referencing the ever-hot Paris style haven.
Each season French Trotters’ owners travel to a different city and bring back their favorite designers—Christophe Lemaire, Xuan-Thu Nguyen, Anna Sui, Indress and Sigerson Morrison, to name a few.
In their split-level space on rue de Charonne, photographers-cum-proprietors Carole and Clarent Tenancier devote the bottom half to all things fashion, while the upper half hosts exhibitions with work by artists from the city of focus.
