Andrea Crews is more a conceptual cooperative than a funky fashion brand à la Kokon to Zai.
The shop space is an experimental laboratory where eccentric artists, stylists, DJs and videographers meet to create a celibratory cultural melting pot.
The collections are presented using performance, video, dance and installation art, focusing on issues like recycling, re-assembling and refiguring existing styles and clothes. Each collection is embedded into a narration motivated by the lust to create fantasy lives and tell vibrant stories with the artistic means of disguise and animation.
Andrea Crews itself is a fictional hybrid character (half man, half women) dreamed up by owner Maroussia Rebecq to represent the eclectic group of creators unified by their distinctive style, active stance on human rights and environmental concerns. M.I.A. would approve.
The explosive clan of fashion designers transform old apparel from friends or thrift stores into killer 30-300€ unrivaled looks whilst contemporary and street artists invent earth-friendly pieces and exhibitions. Rebecq’s state-of-the-art collective takes the term “lifestyle brand” to a whole new level—an entertaining and sustainable one.
