This authentic flea market is the Ali Baba’s cave of Paris. Built on the outskirts of the French capital, Montreuil is a fascinating, old-style bric-a-brac of antique, clothes, trinkets, vinyl records, old televisions, door handles and tooth brushes.
The list goes on. You could spend weeks digging through stalls full of vintage clothes, ‘80s sportswear, military jackets, pre-war fur, old lace nightgowns and, if you’re lucky enough, a second-hand pair of Church shoes. The good deals are made on old furniture and bicycles. You can even bring your bike to get it fixed there. But remember never to buy a table or a dress at full price: Montreuil is the temple of bargain, but also the occasional scalpers.
