A pioneer in the contemporary art scene, gallerist Yvon Lambert was one of the first Europeans to embrace American conceptual artists in the 1980’s. His Paris outpost has been in operation for over 40 years, with a store front art bookshop and a basement gallery.
With a roster of artists 60 names steep, Lambert is well renowned for celebrating both well-established and younger artists including Jenny Holzer, On Kawara, Jonathan Monk, Candice Breitz, Andres Serrano and Barbara Kruger. In 2003 Lambert opened his US branch of the gallery, setting up shop in New York City.
As if two galleries in the world’s art hubs weren’t enough, Lambert opened a small museum for his private collection in Avignon, France, where has hosted exhibitions open to the public since 2000.
