Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin
True dedication to the arts

Emmanuel Perrotin is really committed to supporting the arts—in 1995 he dressed up as a giant penis for six weeks at the request of artist Maurizio Cattelan, all to celebrate the opening of an exhibition at the gallery. He stalked the artist Sophie Calle, hiring a private detective to follow her every move essentially recreating her 1981 piece La Filature, all to get her to sign a contract with his gallery.

Needless to say, Perrotin has sent shock waves through the Paris contemporary art scene—waves that reach all the way to Miami where he has a second gallery outpost.

Constantly on his toes in search of cutting-edge young artists, Perrotin, regardless of age, has a knack for spinning art into gold.
