Centre Culturel Suisse de Paris
Swiss precision

Few good things in life are for free, especially in Paris, but in this case you are in luck—a visit to the Centre Culturel Suisse and its excellent exhibitions costs nothing but curiosity. The CSS has been representing Pro Helvetia, the Arts Council of Switzerland, in France since 1985. Past co-operations have included prominent artists such as Fischli & Weiss, Jean Tinguely and Meret Oppenheim.

In late 2008, art world superstar John Armleder planned a project specifically for the Centre’s main exhibition hall in collaboration with French interior decorator Jacques Garcia. Garcia created an authentic and meticulously detailed neo-bourgeois apartment for Armleder including an entrance hall, dining room, lounge and bedroom—just one example of many intriguing projects held at CSS.
