Cute thrift-savvy ladies and their bowler-capped boyfriends flock to Le Pin Up, a deceptively-sparse bar in Montorgueil. It’s the kind of teensy space hip locals are quick to claim as their own, with a revolving door of thick-rimmed creatives and just enough bizarre touches to keep conversation afresh: whitewashed walls, Arne Jacobson-inspired plastic chairs, a dangling bead curtain and a coveted mezzanine spot from which one can perch prettily and scan the crowd while sipping on the bar’s stellar La Piscine cocktail.
It’s not all terribly precious. The downstairs basement area, hosting local DJs spinning nearly every day of the week, can get downright swampy.
